Lynette L. Marshall, CFRE
President and CEO
Lynette Marshall joined The University of Iowa Foundation as president in August 2006. A graduate of the University of Illinois and a longtime and senior fundraising professional there, Marshall earned her Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation from the Association of Fundraising Professionals in 1992, is a member of several national fundraising organizations, and has taught development workshops nationally and internationally. Marshall, whom the Corridor Business Journal named among its 2010 Women of Influence, enjoys providing leadership to several community organizations in the Iowa City area. She is a member of the Iowa City Noon Rotary, where she serves on the board of directors and chairs the World Community Service Committee, and she is a member of the 2011 Johnson County United Way Board of Directors and Women's Leadership Circle. Thomas R. Hanson
Chair, UI Foundation Board of Directors

A 1960 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Engineering’s mechanical engineering program, Tom Hanson of Hinsdale, Illinois, was elected to a three-year term as chair of the Foundation board in 2010. After years in the heating and cooling industry, Hanson integrated his expertise in engineering, business, sales, and communications and started his own company in 1980, which is now known as Fleming Hanson Sales. The Chicago-based company, from which Hanson retired in 2000, contracts with heating and cooling manufacturers as exclusive regional sales representatives. In addition to his philanthropic support for the College of Engineering and other UI areas and his service as a board member, he has served the UI as a former chair of the UI College of Engineering development council and as a member of the College of Engineering advisory board. He has previously served on the boards of the DuPage Easter Seal Treatment centers, the Hinsdale Center for the Arts, and Advocate Health Care.
Tiffani K. Shaw
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Tiffani Shaw joined the UI Foundation in 1997, and as Executive VP and COO she oversees the Foundation's administrative departments—Finance, Information Technology, Facilities and Operations, Legal, Human Resources, and Communications. Prior to that, Tiffani served as the Foundation's Controller and Chief Financial Officer. Before joining the Foundation, she was a Public Accountant with McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, where she supervised audits in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. She received her B.A. in accounting from The University of Iowa and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Tiffani also serves on the National Advisory Board for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
David L. Triplett
Vice President, Development Resources and Comprehensive Campaign Director

Dave Triplett, who earned a B.A. degree in history and political science from The University of Iowa in 1972, has been with the UI Foundation since 1995, serving in a variety of development and leadership positions. He was an assistant football coach for the Iowa Hawkeyes from 1989 to 1995, after serving as head coach of the University of South Dakota football team.
Jennifer K. Smith
Assistant Vice President, Legal

Jennifer Smith joined the Foundation in 2007 after having worked as an attorney in the UI Office of the General Counsel and for a law firm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She earned her bachelor's degrees in psychology and sociology from The University of Iowa, and she is a 2004 graduate of the UI College of Law.
