As a 501(c)(3) organization, The University of Iowa Foundation can serve as a connector to support from private foundations and corporations. Our Corporate and Foundation Relations team can identify gift and grant opportunities, help to build relationships with private foundation funders, and assist with developing your letters of inquiry and proposals.
We work closely with the Office of the Vice President for Researchand the Division of Sponsored Programs to identify funding opportunities and pursue gifts, philanthropic grants, and sponsored project support.
Faculty and staff seeking funding are encouraged to contact our staff for assistance at any level. We can:
- Research potential corporate and foundation funding sources. Submit your request for assistance
- Facilitate contact with foundation representatives
- Write and edit letters of inquiry and proposal narratives
- Host site visits for current and potential funders
- Engage the appropriate university leadership in your proposal
- Recognize and steward funding received
- Assist with reporting requirements
- Connect your department with a number of resources, both on and off campus
