Levitt Center for University Advancement

Richard S. and Jeanne S. Levitt
The Levitt Center for University Advancement is home to
The University of Iowa Foundation, the UI Alumni Association, and the UI Division of Alumni Records and Services. The facility, named for Richard S. and Jeanne S. Levitt and designed by renowned architect Charles Gwathmey (1938-2009), provides a central location for many of the University's advancement-related activities. These include fundraising, alumni communications, and outreach; and events related to student recruitment, public relations, economic development, legislative liaison, and more.

Richard (1952 B.A., 1954 J.D.) and Jeanne (1952 B.A.) Levitt of Des Moines are two of the UI’s most generous benefactors and volunteers. In addition to their leadership support for the Levitt Center, the couple has supported numerous UI programs and initiatives with gifts and service. Richard Levitt is a lifetime honorary director of the University of Iowa Foundation Board of Directors and of the board of the Iowa Law School Foundation (which raises private support for the UI College of Law), and both are members of The University of Iowa Presidents Club Platinum, which recognizes the UI’s most generous contributors.
