Henry B. Tippie College of Business
Class of 2012

Involvement in a young investors club during high school sparked an immediate interest in business and finance for David Fulcher, and eventually led him to the University of Iowa Henry B. Tippie College of Business. "For me it's been such a wonderful experience at Iowa, I’ve had such a great time, and it’s expanded my academic horizions," says David.

The Finance and Spanish double major has taken full advantage of his college experience. He was president of the Financial Management Association, and is active in Delta Sigma Pi (a co-ed business fraternity), studied abroad in Costa Rica and was a recipient of Tippie’s "21 Under 21" award, which goes to the college’s outstanding student leaders.

"I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Tippie and thank him for all of his support. It was such a gratifying experience," David said, referring to the 1949 UI graduate who gave $30 million to support the UI's business college that now bears his name. David was also selected as a scholar for the Hawkinson Institute of Business Finance, a donor-funded professional development program that currently boasts nearly 100 percent job placement for its graduates.

David is grateful for all of the opportunities he's had at Iowa, and has this to say to his fellow students. "Mr. Tippie mentioned that his very first gift was five dollars," says David. “Any amount helps!"
