To pursue her interest in business, Sarah Langlas considered schools all over the country. But she was raised a Hawkeye fan by her father and other relatives who attended The University of Iowa, and Sarah wanted to be part of the tradition.

From the moment she stepped onto campus, the University of Iowa Henry B. Tippie College of Business student from Wheaton, Illinois, has benefited from private support in ways she hadn’t anticipated. Sarah has built a network of peers and business professionals through the Tippie Scholar program and presentations coordinated by the Young Alumni Board. She has received writing and resume assistance through the Judith R. Frank Business Communications Center and guidance from a program checklist plan that helps students in different majors get on the right track early.

These resources help Sarah, who is on the UI varsity soccer team, efficiently manage her time and prepare for the business world she’ll enter after graduation.

Sarah is grateful to the generous alumni and friends who enable her to take advantage of so many diverse resources. “The more program variety the Tippie College of Business can offer, the more students will get involved and contribute,” says Sarah, a recipient of the Old Gold and Heritage Scholarships, who wants to attend graduate school after working for several years. “Every little bit of support can create something new.”
