Instructions for Giving Mutual Funds
It is possible to make a gift using shares of mutual funds -- if you plan ahead.
The benefits are similar to making a gift of appreciated securities, but the process generally takes a little longer. You should allow four to six weeks for the transaction to be processed. If you are planning on making a year-end gift we recommend you start the process as early as November.
